Michelle’s program of research mainly involves of advancing prediction of suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STBs) through modeling complexity of STBs by incorporating novel predictors, psychopathology models, and diverse experiences. She is particularly interested in interpersonal physiological synchrony as a novel predictor of STBs. Her research also includes examining psychometric properties of measures of STBs and psychopathology, particularly in regards to their generalization across identity dimensions (e.g., race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation).
